SHREDDER

Punta Penna Grossa, a beautiful nature reserve, lots of birds including sea turtles, where we found a clean beach for the first time in ages. On closer look, the catastrophe was much worse! The plastic seemed to been shredded and was all over the beach in tiny pieces.

This is even more dangerous for nature because the absorption of micro plastic in the food chain got faster. Animals and plants contain more and more nano plastics. We gathered courage, took a deep breath of fresh air and started collecting the micro plastic. After a few hours of collecting, we had two bags full. We then drew a line and wrote the word ‘clean’ to indicate where the beach was cleaned.
